Shane grew up in the Dallas area and graduated from Desoto High School but was born in Oak Cliff and his grandparents lived there. He went on to the Eastman School of Music (BM, 1995) SMU (MM, voice, 1997; composition 1998) and NTSU DMA, 2007) Shane is a professor at DBU and also teaches at Cedar Valley College. In his “spare time” he is involved in theater in the Dallas area, fulfilling roles of director, music director, musician and actor. He is married to Nissa and they have a son, Colin and a daughter Alana and now reside in Oak Cliff.
